Sonoris Wines was founded in January of 2011 by acclaimed winemaker Hillary Sjolund. Sonoris means “to resonate.” The labels are dedicated to her family members, who continue to inspire, motivate, and resonate within her.
Hillary’s wines are made from vineyards in the Red Mountain AVA, and other select vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley. Her wines are technically balanced and uniquely expressive. Her acute sensory focus on aroma and flavor directs her vineyard site selection and winemaking style.
In the fall of 1998, Hillary was entering her freshman year at UC Davis where she fell in love with the culture of wine, and learned how winemaking intricately united her passion for science with the creativity of art. Winemaking became the perfect outlet for Hillary to continue her scientific explorations while expressing her creative imagination.
